3D Printing
Send us a file and we quote it. We print the parts we model, and we print files you bring us. Clean geometry, correct scale, finished to be used rather than just photographed.
How to get a quote
Printing is quoted per job rather than priced from a table, because cost depends on size, material, how long the machine is tied up and how much support the shape needs. The process is short:
- Send the file. STL or 3MF. Attach it to the form below or email it to sales@precisionplasticsigns.com.
- Tell us the colour, the material and the quantity. Pick a colour from the range below, say PLA or PETG, and say how many you need.
- We reply with a price and a lead time. A real person reads every file before quoting it, so if something will not print well you will hear about it before you pay rather than after.
- You approve, we print. Nothing goes on a machine until you have agreed the quote.
File formats
- STL — the standard mesh format, exported by every CAD package and every model site. Send it at the size you want the part, in millimetres.
- 3MF — preferred where you have it. It carries scale, orientation and colour assignments inside the file, so there is less to get lost in translation.
If all you have is a sketch, a photo or a measurement, that is fine too. We can model it first, which is covered on the 3D modeling page.
Size limits
We run two machines, so the size limit depends on which one your part goes to:
- Large format: 330 × 320 × 325 mm (about 13.0 × 12.6 × 12.8 in).
- Standard: 256 × 256 × 256 mm (about 10.1 in cubed).
Design to 320 × 310 × 315 mm or under and your part fits the large machine with room for a brim. Keep it under 250 mm in every direction and it fits either one, which usually means a shorter wait because whichever machine is free can take it.
Anything larger gets split into sections with dowels, keys or lap joints so it lines up on assembly. We put the split lines where they will not show and will not carry load, and we will tell you before quoting if a part needs splitting.
Materials we print today
- PLA. Crisp detail and clean surface finish. Our default for display pieces, prototypes, classroom items and anything that lives indoors at normal temperatures.
- PETG. Tougher and more heat tolerant than PLA, with better resistance to moisture. The right pick for functional parts, anything handled daily, and items that live in a kitchen, a bathroom or a car. Stocked in 10 colours, listed below.
As a rough guide: if it sits on a shelf, PLA. If it gets used, washed, carried around or left in a warm place, PETG. If your part needs a material we do not currently run, tell us what it has to withstand and we will say plainly whether we can do it.
Colours we stock
The two materials come off different supply, so they have different ranges. Name the material and the colour when you ask for a quote. Swatches are close to the real thing, but screens vary and the printed colour is the one that counts.
PLA — 19 colours
Our widest range, including two silks with a metallic sheen. Best for display pieces, classroom items and anything that lives indoors.
PETG — 10 colours
A shorter range, weighted toward greys and primaries. Tougher and more heat and moisture tolerant, so this is the one for parts that actually get used, washed or left somewhere warm.
Multi-colour parts are possible on the large machine. Say which surfaces should be which colour, or send a 3MF with the colours already assigned. If you need a colour that is not in either range, ask and we will see what we can source.
Print-ready file preparation
Watertight geometry, sensible wall thickness, sane orientation, and supports placed where they will not scar a visible face. If you bring your own file, we check it before it goes near a printer, and we will come back to you if the mesh has holes, the scale looks wrong, or a wall is too thin to survive being handled.

Where are you based?
Doral, Florida, at 8850 NW 13th Terrace, Unit 103, Doral, FL 33172. We are open Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm. Collection is free if you are local to Doral, Miami or anywhere in Miami-Dade, and we ship anywhere in the United States.
How much does 3D printing cost?
We quote per job rather than per gram, because the cost is driven by how long the printer is occupied rather than by the plastic. Send an STL or 3MF through the form and you get a price and a lead time back, usually within one business day. Our ready-made products run from $14 to $25 if you would rather buy something already designed.
How long does it take?
Two to three business days to make, then collection or shipping on top. If you need something faster, say so when you ask for the quote and we will tell you honestly whether it fits.
What is the largest thing you can print?
330 x 320 x 325 mm, about 13 x 12.6 x 12.8 inches, on our large-format machine. Our second machine handles 256 mm cubed. Anything bigger gets split into sections with dowels or lap joints and assembled, so size is rarely the thing that stops a project.
What materials and colours do you offer?
PLA in 19 colours, including two silks, and PETG in 10. PLA is the choice for display pieces and anything indoors; PETG is tougher and handles heat and moisture, so it suits parts that get used, washed or left in a car. The two ranges are different, so a PLA colour is not automatically available in PETG.
Do I need a 3D model already?
No. Send a sketch, a photo, a sample part, or just describe it. We model it first and show you before anything is printed. If you do have a file, STL and 3MF are what we want for printing.
What file do you need for laser cutting?
SVG is best, because colour in an SVG tells the laser which lines to cut, which to score and which to engrave, each at its own power. DXF works when the part comes from CAD. We also cut from a 3D file or a drawing, it just takes an extra step.
Can you cut material I supply?
Yes. Tell us what it is and how thick before you send it, because some materials cut cleanly, some scorch and a few are unsafe to laser. We keep basswood plywood in stock if you would rather not source anything. We do not cut PVC or vinyl.
Do you do personalised gifts for teachers?
Yes, that is a large part of what we make. The crayon tissue box cover, the periodic table sticky note holder and the beaker pen holder are all printed to order with the teacher’s name modelled into the surface, so it cannot peel or fade. Pick the colour and the name when you order.
Do you take small orders, or is there a minimum?
There is no minimum. One piece is a normal order here, and so is a class set.
